Australian Help
You can apply for NDIS for a child under 7 without a diagnosis. This funding can be used for therapies and assistance to help your child.
✨️ Go here to find information on NDISS early childhood partners: https://ourguidelines.ndis.gov.au/.../what-early...
✨️ Go here to search for your closest early childhood partner: https://www.ndis.gov.au/contact/locations
✨️ The childhood development unit in your state is a multi-disciplinary team that can help assess your child for services. You can be referred to this service by your community health nurse.
✨️ Centrelink has two payments for caring for a child. One has an income limit of $250,000 per annum. (If you and your partner's total taxable income is over this you can’t receive it) It is called the Carers Allowance and is $136.50 a fortnight. It also has a lump sum paid at tax time of $1600 for every eligible child you care for. Your child will also be eligible for a health care card.
✨️ You will need to get this form filled out by your GP, psychologist, pediatrician, speech therapist, or occupational therapist (We recommend getting someone who has the knowledge to fill it. Your pediatrician, or psychologist would have such knowledge.) https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/sa426
✨️ If you earn under a certain amount you can also apply for the carers payment. This is income tested, like any other Centrelink payment. It is a fortnightly payment that is based on your combined total income. You can get this and a carer allowance, but you can only get carer payment for one child as it is a pension-type payment. The medical form to apply for both of these is here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/sa431
✨️ In Queensland there is a program run by the education department called ECDP. It generally runs from within a public school-based setting with special education teachers and assistants. It runs usually two days a week during school terms for 2 and a half hours. We highly recommend looking into this program if you're able to. You will need to meet the criteria to access the program. We believe there is an equivalent program in NSW.
✨️ Information on more services can be found here: https://www.qld.gov.au/dis.../finding-out/early-intervention
